Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was the second president of India. He was a true statesman and a philosopher. He also served as the first vice-president of the newly independent India. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India. His birthday, 5 September is celebrated as "Teachers' Day" every year in India.
